Save old castle lachlan (SOCL) Fund
The Lachlan Trust of Canada is a registered charity dedicated to raising awareness of our Scottish & Celtic ancestors. A save old castle lachlan  (SOCL) Fund has been formed by the Lachlan Trust of Canada, a registered charity,  and the not for profit Clan Lachlan Association of Canada . The major objectives of the Fund are:
  • to raise funds to help the preservation of  the remains of a 700 year old castle in the ancestral home of the Clan in Argyll, Scotland.
  • to help the preservation  of the heritage of the clan by producing and updating the existing clan and genealogy information in the Lachlan Library..
  •  to create and expand an online Lachlan Library of E Books highlighting Scottish and Celtic history & culture.
  • to publish through Lachlan Editions  E Books of  personal & family memoirs ,family genealogy,  family history, stories, poetry, pioneer experiences in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa and  USA, wartime experiences etc.
  • to put the total updated contents of the Lachlan Library on a DVD and file annually in the National Library of Scotland which gives a permanent record.

Lachlan Trust of Canada & the Clan Lachlan Association of Canada (CLA ) through the SOCL Club have formed a Lachlan Library to preserve our heritage.

CA21.0 Annual donation  of $25.00( the same dollar cost  for US$, AU$, CA$, NZ$ )or £12.50.  to the SOCL Fund gives:

  • SOCL Club membership  with Charitable Donation Receipt.
  • Membership in Clan Society( for those qualified by blood).
  • CLA Membership ( or Associate Membership open to anyone);

  • Online Lachlan Library Card ( This contains a rapidly growing library of over 100 E Books on Scottish  Highland history & culture;over 100 E Books with  the clan history, traditions  and genealogy information formerly on the CD; any Lachlan Edition E  books published plus  )
  • Lachlan Library Card holders can have  Memoirs, Reminiscences, Family Stories & Histories published as Lachlan Editions E books and given a permanent home in the Library & Archives Canada and in the National Library of Scotland.

  •  Lachlan Library Card holders can have a Commercial Lachlan Edition E book.
  • Contact Function. Member can submit content for an E Book; raise questions on Genealogy, Membership and Library Content.
  • Lachlan Library holders can purchase CA06., $15.00.(£7.50) the yearend  DVD  giving  the current Library contents
  • Existing Clan Society members could make an annual  donation to the Call for Funds from the Chief  for the old castle lachlan project. They could enjoy the benefits of Lachlan Library membership and decide not to utilize the particular benefit  of Clan Society membership for themselves; they would be permitted to transfer this Clan Society and CLA membership benefit  to a qualified family member

Membership. For those with an ancestor  born in Scotland or Ireland named MacLachlan , Lachlan, McLaughlin, Laughlin, Claflin, Gilcrist or MacEwen, or any of the 400 variations in spelling,  you are eligible by blood to become a Clan Society member and support your ancestral clan. Membership in CLA brings also  Clan Society membership.
CLA offers Associate Membership to anyone interested in making a donation for preserving our Celtic & Highland heritage but not qualified by blood as a member of the Clan. This carries all the rights of membership except the right to vote as a Clan Society member..

$500.00 over maximum of 5 years. £250.00 over 5 years

 
CA31. Patron of old castle lachlan Lifetime CA21 membership & CA18 printing. plus each year 2 Gift CA21 memberships.( Membership starts when pledge is made, gifts start when $500.00 is reached) Patrons will receive a signed scroll and their names will be inscribed in a "Memorial Stone" in the vicinity  of the restored "old castle lachlan." $2,000.00  over  maximum of 7years   £1.000.00 over 7 years
